1. I know this is already late but I really like this photo of Rafael Nadal.

Tennis pro Rafael Nadal posed with the coveted Coupe des Mousquetaires trophy after beating out Novak Djokovic of Serbia to win his seventh French Open on Monday, breaking the world’s record for most-ever French Open titles won. (6/11/2012)

  2. No matter what… I will support Rafael Nadal even though there are new young players and I admit I like some of them too but I am forever a die-hard Rafa Nadal fan

  3. Nadal beats pal Nalbandian to make US Open last 16

Defending champion Rafael Nadal reached the US Open last 16 with a 7-6 (7/5), 6-1, 7-5 victory over gutsy close friend David Nalbandian on Sunday.

But it was an uneven performance from the second-seeded Spaniard who endured a first set hiccup, when he trailed the 76th-ranked Argentine 3-5, and was broken when he served for the match in the ninth game of the third.

Up next for the 10-time Grand Slam title winner is Gilles Muller of Luxembourg, who eased past Russia’s Igor Kunitsyn 6-1, 6-4, 6-4, for a place in the quarter-finals.

“It was a tough day. David is a fantastic player and a close friend who has had a tough time with injuries,” said Nadal.

“The first set was key when I came back when he was serving for the set. I am happy because I played my best match of the tournament so far.”

Nalbandian, who reached three in the world in 2006 before his career was stalled by hip and groin surgery, went into the the tie on a muggy Arthur Ashe Stadium with a 2-2 career record against the Spaniard.

And he was far from unbowed in the opening set when a game plan of all-out attack, which witnessed 18 winners and 23 unforced errors, almost paid dividends before Nadal played a more composed tiebreak.

    well… congrats Novak.

Rafa looks so sad. It’s breaking my heart </3 Though he will still be back next year!

  5. He played very well in the second. It’s difficult to describe. He played better than me. He is the champion here.

  6. 3rd of July 2011 Sunday’s Best: Sports Winners and Losers

The Philippine Azkals won in the first round of 2014 FIFA World Cup Brasil Asian Qualifiers against Sri Lanka Brave Reds earlier in their 2nd leg match!

Almost the whole team mobbing Chieffy Caligdong after scoring the first goal

I admit it’s our first time to surpass the round one of the FIFA World Cup qualifier and yes! I am so proud of our team and cannot wait for round 2 where they will face Kuwait National Team. *fingers cross* I know they can beat them! lol

Phil Younghusband going to embrace Chieffy Caligdong for scoring the first goal. As always Caligdong is celebrating Air Force style. LOL

The final scores was 5-1 (including the 1st leg match scores). Chieffy Caligdon scored first in the 19th minute, next is Phil Younghusband (FYI: Angel Locsin was watching at the Rizal Staduim too) two minutes before half-time. Though there was a confusion on Phil’s first goal. A linesman signaled him a foul thus nullifying his goal but the lead referee overruled the nullification and gave the goal to the Azkals thus making our players get a little relax before the half-time break knowing that they are on the lead.

Then on the second half the Fil-Spanish player Angel Guirado maneuvered the ball from left to right keeping it away in the goal keeper until he found the back of the net. He scored the 3rd goal in the 51st minute.

Then when I sensed that the Brave Reds finally feel the tension or should I say “defeat” LOL… Five minutes after Guirado’s goal, Fil-German Stephen Shrock was taken down in the penalty box by Brave Reds’ Chathura Gunaratne thus giving Philippines a penalty kick. Phil Younghusband stepped up to take the shot. He send the goal keeper the wrong way and kicked the ball very high but enough to get inside the net giving the Azkals another goal. The final score of the 2nd leg match was 4-0.

Meanwhile in Tennis which just ended a few minutes ago: Wimbledon Men’s Finals Novak Djokovic vs. my favorite Rafael Nadal

Though in this match, it didn’t go the way I like it unlike in the football match earlier. My favorite Tennis player lose to Novak Djokovic 5 consecutive times now!

Djokovic finally have his first Wimbledon Title with an emphatic 6-4 6-1 1-6 6-3 victory. Djokovic won the first 2 sets through great ball control making Nadal run all over the place to reach it. I never saw Nadal played like this. It was so unlike him though in the 3rd set, it seems like Nadal’s composure was back winning the set but Djokovic was really so damn good and it was already hard for Nadal to win it anyway.

Well, he already have 10 grand slam titles and everyone have their up and down moments also Nadal will still be back next year! :) Though it still breaks my heart seeing my tennis idol look so sad.

So that’s all folks! That’s what I have for my first Sunday’s Best post. Starting tomorrow I will have a weekly editorial post in my blogs. so happy 4th of July (to those who are celebrating it) and I hpe everyone had a happy weekend!

    Ciao! xoxo

  8. ahappynote:

Our dear Rafa. Despite the losses, I will always believe in you. I hope you know the mistakes you made and keep improving. VAMOS RAFA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be forever fan of Rafa :)

  9. Q: “What do you like about Rafa as a person?”

ROGER FEDERER: “Well, he’s always in a good mood, you know. I have never seen Rafa come along and - I’ve seen him tired, but not in a bad mood, you know. So that’s what’s nice about him. He’s friendly, he’s always the same guy. He doesn’t come in once and he doesn’t know who you are, the next day he remembers, you know. He’s always very straight and very polite and yeah, we enjoy each other’s company and it’s nice to see him do well and it’s also obviously nice to play against him.”

  10. As promise… Here are the highlights from the Hope For Japan Charity Football Match between Tennis stars (such as Nadal and Djokovic) vs. the local football club.

The Tennis players scored 2 points! Not Bad! :D

  11. Tennis Stars played football for Japan

Last month I tweeted and shouted on my facebook status about Nadal and Djokovic will play football in Japan. I was like “my favorite tennis players will play my favorite sport… There’s no way I will not brag about it! haha!”

Now here’s a video from an audience who’s in the one-of-a-kind/ most unforgettable/ historical event.

Later I will post the highlights… Now my question is:

Rafa Nadal, do have any stuff in your closet that isn’t neon lime or a tennis-ball-colored stuff? Seriosly, that color could hurt someone’s eyes.
