There’s truth to the statement that fashion takes itself too seriously, but sometimes there’s a sense of humor lurking in the depths of even the most high-end designer’s repertoire. Often it’s showcased via silhouette, color and texture, or—as we’ve seen lately—the use of certain prints like splashy leopard prints, the hilarious knock off logos and fruit prints. But now it’s…
When I thought of writing about gold manicures the first thing that pops out in my head is Cleopatra. I’m not sure if nail arts or even a nail polish already exists during her era or if she really decorated her nails. It’s just gold gives an instant glamour to anything and if you are familiar with Cleopatra or even watched the movie starring Elizabeth Taylor you have an idea how glamorous she…
Nina Garcia famously said “less is often more”and I totally agree with it. But if you asked me if I agree to that statement around four years ago I probably wouldn’t. You see, time changes, you may love a certain style right now but in a few years time you can’t believe you wore such a thing. DO YOU HAVE AN INTERESTING STORY TO SHARE?
The 3rd of August is the Friendship Day, though it is also Sister’s Day, but let I’ll focus on friendship instead because aren’t most sisters like friends and we consider our friends like sisters?
I want to feature stories from other people on my bloh http://www.stylevanity.com and so I’m looking for stories told through photographs, illustrations, videos, essays, short stories, poems, comic strips, and even open letters that can relate to “Friendship” like do you and your friends have fashion rules like in the Mean Girls, or things that you learned from your friends, unique activities or celebrations that only your group do, story of some adventure or unforgettable moment you had with your friends, something you want to say for a very long time, tips to keep the friendship strong in whatever situation or you have a straight boy/ gay/ lesbian BFF that you would like to share your story with us. It could be tragic, comedy, inspirational or anything under the sun (or moon).
This will offer a wide range of readership, good exposure, and mad props for your blog. Just don’t forget to include a short bio and link to your blog, twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram.
You can submit your work to submissions[at]stylevanity[dot]com
I still haven’t quite hit the acceptance point in my five stages of World Cup–ending grief. So maybe I’ll keep writing about it till it come back? (That makes this the bargaining stage, I guess. Maybe I should add that to Kübler-Ross model?) As I refuse to let go, I rounded up the 10 lessons from the world cup 2014.

This was the constant theme…
I don’t remember when was the first I was asked “how to gain exposure for your blog?” but I do get it a lot super often, that is why I decided to launch a blog where I will tell and explain all my and other successful bloggers’ secrets. You can visit it here. Take note though, it’s still in Beta.
Another thing, as the Philippines is about to be hit by another storm I am announcing that Style…
The World Cup is finally over, congratulations to Germany team for winning the title for the fourth time! Our favorite gorgeous footballers are now off to a well deserved vacation break, while for us mere spectators, it’s time to go back to reality. Now, I can focus on my fashion blog again and so the Paris Street Style post continues as this season’s Haute Couture Week is coming to its end also.
